Developing Positive Youth Culture (DPYC)

The Council for Developing Positive Youth Culture (DPYC) has been in existence for over 20 years.

Mission & Purpose


The mission of this program is to create and sustain a positive culture for Ellington's youth through collaboration among the community, schools, and town agencies. The DPYC also serves as the Youth Advisory Board and LPC (Local Prevention Council) coalition for federal grants the town has received for the prevention of underage drinking.

The DPYC has diverse representation of the local community including:

  • Educators
  • Faith-Based Members
  • Parents
  • Law Enforcement

Any parent or member of the community interested in being a member of the DPYC can email Diane Lasher-Penti, Youth Services Director and Co-Chairperson of DPYC.
