Rise Above is leadership group made up of high school students with a mission of offering high school students the opportunity to learn and apply leadership skills along with being role models to their peers and younger students. Launch My Idea
This newest program for high school students allows those with a talent, hobby, or passion to share it with others by organizing a youth program. For more information, visit our Launch My Idea page.
Volunteer Blanket Making Club
This club, hosted by Ellington Girl Scouts, will be making blankets again to be donated to "Project Linus." The Project Linus is a non-profit organization that provides homemade blankets to children in need. Their blankets are lovingly made by adults and children from all walks of life and many different sources. These blankets provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."
AGE LEVEL: 5th grade to 12th grade
All skill levels are welcome. We will be knitting, crocheting and weaving. Participation can count towards community service hours.
WHEN: Mondays, 2/5, 2/12, 2/26, 3/12, 3/26, 4/2
TIME: 6 pm to 7:30 pm

Stressed Teens - Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T) Program
Discover how stress affects you. Learn to respond instead of react, manage emotions and find balance
Instructors: Diane Lasher-Penti, LMFT and Marilyn Toback-Reveley are both certified MBSR-T Instructors.
WHEN: Tuesdays - March 20, 27, April 3, 17, 24, May 1, 8, and 15.

Canvas & Cupcakes
Come be guided through your very own painting while enjoying some of LuAnn's delicious cupcakes and a cup of tea or coffee. All skill levels are welcome. Come out with family and friends for a fun-filled evening. Each night is a different painting so sign up for one or multiple nights. Age 15 and up.

Adult self- defense class
Learn basic self-defense and understand environmental awareness strategies. Learn how to be safe in a variety of situations in your life.
For age 18 and up.
