In School Services

Our approach to in-school services is to act as additional support. Any programs run by EYS in the schools have been requested or approved by EPS staff. We either present a curriculum we believe will be valuable or develop a curriculum in response to a request -- typically from a teacher or principal. The instruction we offer is personalized based on the needs of the school, grade, or individual class. Our services for schools range from designing infographics to presentations to weekly classroom visits.

Curriculum Based Programs

Mindfulness

EYS discovered that mindfulness can be lots of things; simplified, it is nothing other than awareness of the present moment and willingness to understand what is going on in and around oneself. For kids, mindfulness is pausing the ever-going busyness of their lives for a moment. This pause lets them catch their breath and get a sense of what they’re experiencing—to just “be” for a moment. Mindful practices expose kids to important life skills in positive—playful— ways. This model is the base of all mindfulness programs offered from elementary to high school aged students.

Gizmo

EYS partners with EPS to introduce Gizmo for third grade students throughout the district, and has expanded the curriculum each year. Gizmo focuses on mental health and wellness support and how to recognize warning signs and apply appropriate coping strategies. Gizmo also allows students to understand the importance of a trusted adult and communication to discuss their needs.

Recess Zone (K-6)

S.O.S (7-12)

S.O.S is an evidence based program developed by MindWise Innovations. The program improves students’ knowledge and attitudes about suicide risk and depression. The program teaches students to identify sign of depression and suicide in themselves and peers and trains school professionals to recognize at-risk students and take appropriate action.
